Although the government of Alberta no longer collects data regarding class sizes, Alberta’s classrooms continue to become more and more complex, with increased inclusion of students with special needs and greater numbers of students who come to Canada as refugees or immigrants with specific learning needs and little knowledge of English or French.
Voters should ask candidates to outline how they will work to reduce class size and to ensure that classrooms have the support they need to support diverse learning needs.
